FunGen Events & Experiences began with a simple idea: a party should feel like the people it belongs to, not like something the venue sells by the plate. It should feel like them.
It started as favours for friends: a fortieth in a Scarborough backyard, a retirement dinner in a rented Markham hall, a fundraiser in a borrowed one. It became a business because word travelled. Clients kept saying the same two things. It felt like ours, and nothing went wrong.
Today we plan and run a few events at a time, across six kinds of occasion and most corners of the Greater Toronto Area, from Mississauga to Pickering and Vaughan to Ajax. The size of the job changes, but the standard does not: honest budgets, plans you can follow, and a team that keeps the day calm enough for you to be in it.

We turn what a family tells us into a room, a menu and an order of events, then run it without drama. The test is whether guests say it felt like you.
To be the first call when something matters.
Not the biggest planner in the GTA. The one a family calls for the fiftieth, then the wedding, then the school fundraiser, because the first one went right.
One good idea beats five competing ones.
One strong idea, done properly, is worth more than five half-finished ones. We would rather spend the budget on three things guests remember than twenty they never notice.

Listen first, plan second
The first conversation is the longest meeting we have. Everything after it depends on getting that part right.
Say the honest number
We price early and revise in the open. If something is not worth the money, we will say so before you spend it.
Sweat the invisible
Setup routes, vendor meals, power draw, and the walk from the parking lot to the door. Guests feel these even when they never notice them.
Protect the host
You should not be answering questions during your own speech. On the day, every question comes to us.
Leave the venue better
Respect for the space, the staff and the neighbours. It is why halls that rarely say yes twice keep inviting us back.
How a FunGen event comes together.
Six weeks or six months, the sequence stays the same.
First conversation
A long talk about the people, the guest list and what would make the day feel like it worked.
Plan and budget
A written plan: layout, colours, order of events, and a line-by-line budget with real numbers.
Booking and sourcing
Venue, vendors, rentals and menu locked in. A mock-up for anything we have not built before.
Run of show
Schedules, floor plans, walkthroughs and vendor briefings. Backup plans written down instead of assumed.
Event day
We lead setup, run the day and stay through cleanup. You arrive as a guest.

We plan in banquet halls, including the Markham and Scarborough convention centres, along with community halls, restaurants, patios and back gardens. If your venue is new to us, we will go and walk it before we plan anything in it.
